There's a disturbing trend lately that I think someone needs to call out.
The unnecessary whoring of cultural icons in video games.
I'm as big a fan of mash-ups as the next guy (the new Girl Talk album is amazing), but what the hell are Darth Vader and Yoda doing in Soul Calibur IV? That game's sole purpose is demonstrate the latest advances in boob physics in swordplay. It's one thing for Spawn to make a guest appearance, but has the ample teets of the Star Wars franchise grown so withered and dried that they can whore themselves to fight Taki and Voldo?
And while we're at it, what's with DC heroes fighting Mortal Kombat characters? I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Marvel fan who thinks non-Batman DC characters are all silly posers who couldn't even put away the Legion of Doom for more than a week at a time, but I can at least acknowledge that they are on a different plane of existence than Mortal Fucking Kombat. Landing Christopher Lambert in your movie adaptation does qualify you to take on Green Lantern? Go back to fighting exhibition matches with the Street Fighter team at state fairs, kids...leave the big boys alone.
What's next? Grand Theft Mordor?
